Wow, Lin Sue Flood, great article! I've been in Phoenix since 1981, and for a good chunk of those years, yours was a familiar face on my TV. So glad you've moved on to a career where your true colors and passions can really shine!

    Building Infra for Regional Economies

Love this interview. The one with Atossa Soltani is also incredible. Gregory Landua gives a good breakdown toward the end of his on why communities on the ground anchoring the process of creating eco-credits for markets is crucial, rather than top-down expert scientists (who usually have a colonial education background and funder accountability context). What I've been working in that vein is knowledge-sharing infrastructure for communities, and an economic protocol to support community labor as self-determined by communities themselves. To assist in unplugging from extractive industry jobs and having an increasingly stable pathway to working within the ecological constructs of a bioregion. P2P econ instead of statist.Atossa describes her bioregional planning with Indigenous peoples in the Amazon as a transition "away from the extractive mindset, the extractive economy of drilling and mining, and goes into a regenerative standing forest economy that's based on well-being. The well being of people, the well being of the forest, the well being of all life... Putting the Indigenous cosmology of well-being at the core of this ecological transition."

I absolutely recommend checking this out! If you're curious about what the future holds for work, or even just curious about the future in general, Zach is a deep thinker who brings up some really interesting ideas you might not have considered. And if you've ever thought that blockchain is only used for scams (which is unfortunately a common belief), this video will open your eyes to some surprising and legit uses. Give it a watch!
