Default Yahoo article on Men's Free Skate

I certainly wouldn't call Matt's career a downward spiral. Sheesh!

"Evan Lysacek, the reigning world bronze medalist, won the free skate and finished second overall, followed by surprising Matt Savoie, whose clutch performance reversed a long downward career spiral. Three-time U.S. champion Michael Weiss was fourth and walked out of the rink even as his marks were being displayed on the scoreboard. "

Matt just wasn't getting the respect he deserved. They really robbed him last year.

Yeah, Mike pulled an Irina. Who said he took it graciously? I'm sure we are yet to hear a Michael whining interview. I hope I'm wrong.

Matt was robbed throughout the years and I never could understand it. Finally with the new COP rules he's getting what he deserves.

They showed Michael shaking hands with Evan. Yes, he walked out, but Irina practically stomps out when she loses.

Oh my word, this is the fall of a world class skater- a guy who won silvers at worlds, and a national title, and and olympic medal.....I was really broken hearted watching him....the Michelle fluff didnt help, and....he should complete his education, go pro, become a coach....there is a lot out there....but I understand his frusteration.....maybe, he should go one more season.
It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. How painful is it to read that Tim thinks he wasted four years. Poor guy. That really stinks.

Wow. Where's the article where he said that? It's heartbreaking that he feels he wasted 4 years of his life away. He must be quite sad right now. I feel sad for him.

I'm so sad for Tim. I really wanted him in the team, he is my favorite male skater, and just hearing that he feels that he wasted four years... make me cry

i feel bad for him, but i agree!

i mean he was having problems with all his jumps. maybe he should've left the quads and built himself back up with the easier triples!

i think he has had a huge mental block the last 4 years. it's almost like he had something to lose and he stuck with that thought!

and no he didn't waste the last 4 years, he just wasted the last 3!

if there were ever a fall in skating, this is one of them! going from US champ to 7th..he needs to reflect, lose some weight [not to be mean, but he's been in better shape]!

he needs to come back to redeam himself next year! he can do it! maybe that why frank carol left him, because he was too negative!
