Question 2005: What will you remember

Since 2005 is winding down and a new year is almost upon us. What will you remember about 2005? And what are you looking forward to in 2006?

    For me I will remember:
    * My awesome trip to Orlando for my 25th birthday in April. It was such a great trip. I absolutely love Disney World and it had been such a long time since I've been, it was magical. It was also fun to take a trip with just my sister. We had a lot of interesting experiences along the way. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
    * My trip to Chicago in September. We had so much fun and I fell in love with the city. It was great! Loved being able to spend time with my brother, even if he does get on my nerves sometimes.
    * Going to visit my friend in Lansing in June and just getting to hang out with her. I really cherish all those times because we don't always get to see each other.
    * Michelle winning her 9th National medal.
    * Michelle failing to medal at worlds for the first time in a decade
    * Its almost the end of the year and we still haven't seen Michelle's new programs yet. I will definitely remember that. I know its said that sometimes the sweetest things come to those who wait, but it seems like we've waited forever for these programs. We can only hope it has a sweet ending!
    * Finally getting to see the Gin Blossoms in concert! I've loved them since they came out in the early 1990s and had never gotten to see them.
    * The NHL lockout and the resolution to the lockout. I cried when Stevie took the ice in his first game, knowing that this may be and probably will be his last year.
    * November 21 when Red Wings defensemen Jiri Fischer collapsed on the bench and had to be brought back to life. It was such a scary moment. They still don't know the reason why it happened.

What I'm looking forward to in 2006:
    * Going to see the Red Wings play in January. This will be my first game since January 2004 since they didn't play last year.
    * Going to Chicago to see Wicked with my sister in January. I can't wait!
    * Nationals!!!
    * The Olympics.
    * Seeing COI and hopefully Michelle twice this year
    * Going to Washington DC and Antietam again

Enjoy the remainder of 2005 and bring on 2006!!!

    I will remember:

My first trip overseas, to Scotland/England and loving almost every minute of it. Which also included my first airplane flight since I was 12.

My first U2, Coldplay, and Green Day concerts(going to see U2 again next Monday!! )

    Michelle winning her 9th Nationals

Code of Points really annoying the crap out of me.

    The war in Iraq continuing.

Moving into a smaller but nicer 1 bedroom apartment.

Finding out I was going to be able to go to Nationals in 2006!!!

    My Dad's scare with alcoholism.

    My Brother's Divorce.

And Im definitely looking forward to 2 weeks of vacation next year, one of which will be at Nationals in St Louis! and Im also looking forward to watching the olympics on TV

Been lots of good, and a little bad this year, but overall its been a good year. I hope 2006 is just as wonderful, if not better(Go Michelle!!!)

Out of everything these are probably the only things I'll remember because they're so significant:

Getting engaged AND getting married in one year.
Going to Paris on my honeymoon

Rita. Years from now, I will look back and say, 2005? Rita!

Ten hours to drive 130 miles in the evac-traffic. A week without lights & water in Shelby County. Two more weeks 'til we were allowed home. Humongous trees on the house. The roof leaking (including last night).

And the $%#^& insurance trying to avoid paying off, after all the years of premiums we've paid to them!

Looking forward to 2006? Still hoping for the best results at the Games for MK. That oughta make the year good.

2004 was a much better year, but I'll try and think of some things

Well...Michelle's 9th National Title, despite Dick Button's commentary. I love the man, but that was uncalled for.

2005 Gymnastics Worlds that just ended...Go Nastia!

Well I was in a great relationship, but that just ended, so oh well....

hmmm.......movies like Walk The Line, Shopgirl, Cinderella Man, In Her Shoes, and North Country....can't wait for the Oscars, but that will be in 2006...

    The NEW MKF!!

    Oprah Winfrey's 20th Season!!

Well that's about it...the year hasn't been all THAT bad, but compared to 2004, it wasn't all that great But I'm still thankful for everything I have. I'm a blessed person...

    Default I remember....

I got married to my soul mate. I am crazy about him and my daughter also loves him as well.
became a stepmother to 2 awesome wonderful teenagers
    my husband adopted my daughter
my daughters cancer scare (she's better now)
    my transplant
building and moving into my dream home
    the awful hurricance season
Michelle winning her 9th Nats title and knowing she is not finished there yet. There is still number 10 to win in January. I have a lot faith in her ability to win the 10th and also the Olympic GOLD.

There has been some hard times this year, but overall not bad. I am ready for 06 though and what there is to come. I hope it is better than 05.
I am most looking forward to Michelle winning the 10th Nats title and going to Italy for the Olympics and winning there as well. Maybe even worlds.!!!

My fondest memory of 2005 was going to the Tampa Cheesefest. It was my first skating event and it was so nice to meet several MKFers at our get together. Then to top it off, I get to talk to Michelle and get her autograph.

    Hurricane Katrina - How Awful

Iraq War - Semper Fi to all the Marines still over there.

    Michelle's 9th US Title

Meeting Sasha Cohen and Tanith Belbin in St. Paul

My Dad having a mild heart attack and getting stints in a couple of arteries.

The lost of Peter Jennings - I just remember watching him on ABC for most of my life and being the one to update us on whatever is going on in the World.

wow kwanfanatic, what a year for you. Looking at all you have gone through and come out on the other side with a positive attitude, makes me not want to sweat the small stuff, life is too short. I worry over the silliest things sometimes, and it isn't worth it. You're awesome.

(((((((((((((((((((((attyfan))))))))))))))))))) I'm glad you're feeling better!

    I'll remember:

-- My trip to Indianapolis to see the 2005 National Gymnastics Championships
-- My extra teaching job that was both challenging and rewarding
-- Taking trips to the desert to look at my 10-acre wonderland
-- Learning to SWIM!!! at the age of fortysomething and getting over my lifelong water phobia!!!
-- Finally sticking to an exercise schedule
-- Deciding I don't want to be a shrink, after all, and I think I'll stick with education
    -- The Blake acquittal

It's been part good and part bad, I guess like every year I can remember. That's the way life is!

    Default Wow, Krista thanks

Thanks Krista, I appreciate that. I don't feel very awesome. My attidtude comes from being married to Corey. He is the most positive person I know.I am definetly the lucky one in this relationship. We both have a lot of faith in God. Lately, it seems thought that his a lot stronger than mine. I am questioning a lot of things now.
Thankfully, my dughter and I are both in good health now. The health problems we both had are over(knock on wood). We are both feeling well.

I appreciate the kind words, thank you very much.
I worry about things too and unfortunately, I have passed that bad habit on to Jessica.
She worries about me all the time and she is just a kid. I hate that so much.
I am trying not to sweat the small stuff but it is not easy. some habits are hard to break. Corey and I are celebrating our first anniversary in a few weeks and we are looking forward to it. We are also excited about this year coming to an end and just good times ahead.!

I noticed on the political thread that you are the political moderator. COngratulations.
I'm happy for you. You will be a good one. I don't care so much about politics lately. Too busy with my hubby and kids now and decided some things are more important in my life now and I have put my priorites in order and in perspective. This year has taught me that.!!!.

I forgot to add that I gave up nursing not to long ago and went into another career that I have wanted to do for a few years.... BAKE!. I went to cooking school and am now a pastry chef and loving it. I should have done that long ago.

Attyfan, i am so glad you are Ok now. I'm sorry about your heart attack. Please take of yourself and have a great trip to Hawaii. You deserve it . We need you back here to cheer Michelle on to VICTORY this season.

I don't know how some of this came out in color and some in black. I'm sorry it looks like that. It looks terrible but I really don't feel like typing it all over again. Not enough time.

Among the things I will remember about 2005:

My job at a Children's Museum, which I love.

Michelle at Nationals, and being disappointed that she didn't metal at Worlds.

    Seeing the musical "Miss Saigon."

Things I am looking forward to in 2006:

The Winter Olympics, I hope Michelle skates well and wins gold.

Hopfully seeing the musical "Les Miserables"(for the third time) in July, and hearing word about the upcoming celebration of the musical becoming the longest running musical in London. They are likely going to have another special concert, from everything I have been hearing.

Default as far as skating goes....

    Fumie's joy tears at NHK.

Michelle's long awaited and highly anticipated return to the ice at Marshall's.

That awful B spin, B spiral, B pose!
