Oh yah. I am SO dumb! No wonder the numbers didn't add up!

In this competition, there were 10 judges total. 3 of them were randomly selected to be dropped from ALL the scores. Then on each of the 7 scores left, the high and low from each one was also dropped, leaving 5 judges marks to be counted. That means for Mao, 3 judges were automatically dropped, the high of +1 and the low of -1 were dropped, leaving us with 4 judges with -1 and one judge with a 0. That's what gives us the -0.80 GOE.

The collums are not consistent across the board, not even from one line to the next on a single scoresheet as far as I know. If anything, they can only be considered consisten on an individual skaters performance. Judge 1 on the list for Mao might be judge 5 for Yu-Na. No one knows in the public anyways.

The collums are surely consistent. All the scores from one column are given by one judge. In the case of Grand Prix Fianl ladies FS, the first, eighth, and ninth judge were selected by the random selection. It is not difficult to analyze protocols to know who are the victims of the random selection.

In Mao's case her flutz got six -1's and four -2's. But you can see that the random selection dropped three -2's so that the final GOE was just -1. Mao was extremely lucky for her lutz score. The probablility for such a selection was only 4/120 = 3.33%.

Updating some of the rules that have been changed in the last couple of seasons. Still working on it though so people understand some of the newer stuff. hehe...
