    Default Cloud Nine Downloads

Will the cloud nine downloads be added??

Cloud Nine Downloads is already there. You have to be logged in to see that section, since it's just for registered users.

I want to associate my ezboard posts with my current posts & give you a start date to add. But when I click on "this thread" link in your thread of instructions, it says PAGE NOT FOUND.

I don't seem to be having a problem now but I would login, try to post and get logged out somewhere in the middle of the process. I had to login a couple of times before I could actually post. Just testing one more post.

I obviously figured out how to do the link, but my posts say 860. I was at a couple of thousand before (yeah, so I spend a lot of time here!) Is this because I was registered as both a local user & global user under the same name? It must have picked up the posts from my local user name only and not the global user, which had the most posts? Not that it matters that much.

THANK YOU to everyone who provided avatars! They're great.

I think that is the problem, since they both were the same username (just one local, one global.) I'll ask Grace since she knows more about it. If you see a post of yours here that isn't associated (I guess your global account?), let me know, and I'll try again.

I do know that they said the post total would probably be lower here than it was at ezboard. For one thing, those with global accounts could post at other ezboards, and that goes towards their total, but it wouldn't hear. I don't know if there are other reasons.

THANK YOU to everyone who provided avatars! They're great.
I just want to ditto that!

    iloveskating,

I think that's because old threads had fallen off, and the ezboard hack. So not all threads got moved over here, simply because they no longer existed.

Is it possible to add the Date a thread was Started? I miss this info. Thanks.

Great job with the new board. I'm sure it was lots of work!

Just Curious. Will the "default cutoff" for the amount of threads shown, help keep down on the bandwidth usage or possible slowing down of the board? Like where it says "show last 45 days, 100 days, year" ?

    Krista,

It should help cut it down.

iloveskating, what Ashley described was correct.

Here is an additional quote from one of the senior members at vbulletin who knows a great deal about the ezboard import:

Note: Most users will see an average of 20-40% post count loss due to more accurate accounting of how many posts a user actually has. I don't think EZBoard counts deleted posts/threads whereas in vBulletin, if you delete a thread, all the users who participated in it will have their post counts docked accordingly. And of course there's EZBoard's colossal security failure last month.
So this, and because our old threads no longer exist anymore is the reason why post count so low for everyone.

    Question Total Post

Just a small question. When you associated my name with old post it picked up as having 192 total post but over at EZ it says I had 741 at the close of the board. Does it drop some old post? Just wondering.

Log out and log back in and see if that works. Otherwise we may have to try and make it visible again. It's showing up for me.

Hey, this is just a suggestion, but perhaps there should be an email sent out to all the members through the administrator feature on ezboard to all the members to make sure they are aware of the move? Obviously they would more than likely become aware of it, but I don't know how long that reminder of the move would stay up.

    TAF,

I don't think the administrators have that ability. Also, remember that there are over 6000 members at MKF. That would take a lot of time.

The old site will stay there as long as it needs to. All that happens is once the gold expires, the gold features expire. But the board still remains.

Suggestion: Many people are asking about the post count, like I did. When you give the instructions for how to link to your old hane & get your post count, you could mention that the post count might be greatly diminished and the reasons why. Then maybe so many people won't post the same question over & over.

Oh, I was pretty sure there was an administrator feature on ezboard where Heather could type one message, and it would get sent out to all the users (I remember receiving an email like that before from Heather), but anyways judging by your second paragraph, I guess that might not be necessary.

Ash, thanks for adding it in. I was going to do that when I was actually sitting at my desk because I was realizing a lot of people were inquiring about it. Actually, it was one of those things that I wanted to add in the first place but with all the things I wanted to add, I totally forgot... and now I go "oh darn!"

I changed it to follow the current table of contents kind of thing I have going

    Question Bold face thread titles

I notice that some thread titles are bold faced and others are not. I've seen this on other boards too. What is the significance of the bold face thread titles? (No rush to answer )
    Thanks.

I think the bold means it hasn't been read since your last visit.
