Filmstrip Akikko Suzuki Debuts Her New Short Program "Jalousie" at DOI!

Akikko Suzuki debuted her new short program, "Jalousie" at DOI a couple of weeks ago I believe. I thought I would post it here and get your impressions. I personally like it. I noticed that she took advantage of the new rule and excluded the spiral sequence. I wonder how many skaters will actually leave it as part of their programs.

That's fun music! The cut is weird, but hopefully her team will fix that as the season starts.

LOVE IT!! I agree, the edit is a little wonky, but I love the music and that dress with her hair like that is stunning. I hope she has another great year. She did really well last year and I'd love to see her build on that...

I love it! Watching this program makes you wonder where she could have had time to fit a spiral sequence. It's refreshing to see a skater not seem to rush from element to element and to be able to focus on the choreographed in-betweens. I never thought I'd say this, but I think they made a good decision taking the spiral sequence out of the SP. Now I can't wait to see a men's SP without a second footwork sequence.

    I love it!!! Thank you.

I love Akiko. She is one of the few skaters who doesn't look like she's COP-ing her way through elevator music. Great piece for her. Well skated program and GORGEOUS costume!!! I hope she does fabulous with it all season long.
    I believe!

I remain totally in AWE of Michelle Kwan.

This season just hasn't been the same without her.

I miss seeing her on the ice.
    I think I always will...
    IF...she steps onto it again
    Oh...my heart stand still....

Very nice. I love the music. And her skating is graceful and lovely. At the risk of sounding stupid, I've never heard of her. But then I haven't been watching skating very closely the past few years.

^^^ I never saw her before last year either, and I liked her instantly. She's the Japanese skater who skated a blow out program to West Side Story in the GP series this past season. I think she beat Miki Ando at Nationals too, but I'm not sure. If I'm not mistaken, Mao, Akiko and Miki are now the Japanese A team, but they have a wealth of up and comers.
