I miss her. Sounds like she's doing an incredible job, and wow, being tutored in Mandarin. I should do that too I'm jealous of all her friends

I miss her too, Grace. So much.

It;s hard to let her go...but she's there...just doing other things. She has such a wonderful perspective on everything and she is such a beautiful person. She really was the child prodigy in skating and then the legend...and now she seems to be just as good at something else...and I hope she gets all she wants.

That part about going to YouTube to watch her past performances got me teary eyed...i

Thanks so much for posting this link. Michelle is such a classy thoughtful lady. I miss her competing and hope to see an exhibition or show someday.
She will always be my favorite and - actually - I am honored to be a fan.

What an incredible human being. As I was reading this article, I felt like I was reading an outline for a book. Michelle, it's time for an updated autobiography!!!

Kwan was pulling for Sasha Cohen, her two-time Olympic teammate
She is a class act through and through.

Please, Michelle, don't ever stop giving interviews! You are just a joy to listen to. Oh, and when did you say you are going to skate for us again?

    What a wonderful article.

Ahhh....the Olympic festival...I remember that!!! She was soooo cute back then. And what a journey she took us on from that point forward.

What a Lady! Once again--kudoes to her parents--they have done a remarkable job--instilling the values that Michelle took to heart. I feel like I've taken that train ride with her and eagerly waited at each station knowing the journey had many more stops along the way. Each time I am privileged to read one her interviews my admiration grows and grows. Gosh--I wish I could be more like her--not a mean bone in her body--just joy, love and laughter--what better way to live your life?

It was so awesome to open Boston.com and see MK's picture. What a great article! I work in Boston, and I'd probably faint if I ever ran into Michelle! She sounds so happy and fulfilled, and I'm very proud of all she's accomplished.

But, pretty please, Michelle - don't give up on skating all together .... And I still say your Carmina Burana beats any of the SP's I've seen this season, hand down!

That is one of the "freest" interviews she has given imo. Glad that she is so excited about what she is doing. And, as others have said, it was quite nice of her to pull for Sasha.

While that article makes me very proud of Michelle (for at least the 1000th time), it also makes me sad. It seems like she's put her skating life mostly behind her. Reading between the lines, it seems like she won't be skating at least while she's in grad school, so it would be at least another year of not seeing her skate?

...my twin sister, for posting this!

    Great article!

I guess I knew Michelle couldn't skate forever, but what I love most is that she didn't waste a single second of her life sitting back on her laurels and going wow, I rock! I skated! I won a bunch of titles! now I can retire! Taking on a challenge as huge as grad school is incredible. I am *so* proud of her! The mention of a Ph.D. didn't escape me, either! She's the best!

Great article. If you look to the right of the page you will see that this article is the 'most emailed' article! She is not even skating and she is still tremendously popular.

I *believe* Michelle will skate for us again this summer just like she did last year. With her LOVE for skating and also with YuNa connection, the probability rate of us seeing Michelle performing again in the U.S. is MUCH higher than her not doing that this year.

She's only 29 and she's only going to turn 30 this year. Neither age is a good age to hang up her skates and from what I hear, she's keeping her skills in check at the skating rink whenever she can and to me, that's a great sign! Anyway, she's too kindhearted to willingly leave us hungry for that long.

Has there been any mention of her going to the Olympics as a spectator or possibly in some other capacity. Fingers crossed!!!

I hope that we can emulate her spirit here on the Forum. She is such a good role model for us all.

Many thanks, Kathy. It was great to catch up with Michelle; she seems quite
happy and fulfilled. And since she hasn't yet retired, she could be around
    for 2014.

That was a GREAT article. Whoever said it was one of the most "free" from Michelle, I totally agree. She's such a private person and I completely respect that about her. But it is nice to get a glimpse inside her emotions every now and then, just because she's so attached to ours!

Kathy - interesting reply. To me, that means she reminded him that she hasn't retired. Haha. Oh, Michelle...she will never walk away completely. I believe that like I believe the sky is blue.

    Heather,
I'm sure that we we see Michelle skate again. Remember her latest post:

I definitely look forward to performing in front of the U.S. audience again soon; )
She is always true to her word!
What a wonderful article. I am so proud of her.

I don't know if there is anyone in this forum that love, respect, adore, etc MK more than myself. I have a full time job and a family to attend to, but never a day that I don't look for any article about her. My husband said that I am "MK stalker". I have never loved anyone(outside of family) the way I love MK. I print all her pictures and put it on my album just for her.

Is there a chance at all to see her doing "dancing with the stars"?

I hope MK reads our forum. Michelle, just in case you read my post can you please skate again(not competitively) for me? or can you please do what Kristi did, join the "DWTS"? Do you know how much happiness you would bring to us all?

When MK said she was rooting for Sasha to win, tears starts coming. I watched in youtube an interview of Sasha asking her if MK was her friend, to sum it up she said "no, she is just an acquaintance. And yet, here is MK, still wishing for her to succeed. MK you are a good "HUMAN BEING".

Are we going to see her in this coming Olympic? Calling NBC, if you want your rating to go up, put MK and I can assure you that I will be watching the game like a hulk.
