Did it occur to you that he had more important things to do that day than memorize a speech to elementary school children? I don't understand why anyone would care about such a minor thing ...

We have the technology of teleprompters, so why not use them to save time?

Editing to add: I just did a little research & apparently the "schoolchildren/teleprompter" incident did not happen & is yet another myth ..

from a report about the event by theweeklystandard.com:

Obama held two separate sessions at the school -- the first with students and a second for the media. And while he did use two teleprompters for his comments to the media he did not use them for his discussion with the students.
Let's repeat that: He did not use them for his discussion with the students. As if it mattered anyway.

Unlike me, who thinks that some things my candidate does are fine and some aren't, apparently Ms. Palin can't do anything wrong. Even this! It's absurd.

WHY?? in the world is this a MINOR thing but Gov. Palin writing 6 or 7 words on her hands is a huge major catastrophe. I was somewhere today waiting to finish a transaction with a company and I was forced to listen to Chris the tingler Matthews and he, and 2 others were bashing her relentessly.b The show ended thank goodness and Ed Shculz came on and started right in on her again. That is EMBARRASING and disgusting. There is plenty more to discuss going on in the world then what is written on Gov. Palins hand. Like the death of Juhn Murtha.

    Default Okay...

...the discussion of Sarah Palin's crib notes is officially over. I won't say another word about it. Here. I will continue to make snide remarks offline, however . I don't think it's a major thing. I just think it's hilarious. And embarrassing. But the story is over and we can move on and discuss more important things.

I don't think its a major thing. I do find it amusing, however. She was speaking to a friendly crowd - The Tea Party crowd. Why would she feel the need to write "tax" on her hand?

What's not so amusing is that her spoksperson lied when stating that she knew nothing about the questions being asked. In fact, the organizers of the Convention reported all the questions posed to the EX-Governor were pre-screened. She didn't have to speak "off the cuff" at all.

    She also repeatedly mis-pronounced "nuclear".

Palin lashes out at `Family Guy'

In short, the teenaged character of Chris dated a girl with Down Syndrome (portrayed by an actress who also has Down Syndrome). In one point of the show she says that her mother used to be the governor of Alaska. Sarah and Bristol are mad because they think it was aimed at Trig.

Palin says her family went to Canada for health care when she was young

    Socialized medicine anyone?

Has anyone ever scrutinized Palin's background including her birth certificate and residences? If she lived in White Horse, she would know where Skagway was.

And what about changing the locations in the story according to the audience she is speaking to? Maybe the notes on the hand is not such a bozo idea after all.

Palin's show drops LL Cool J after he complains
"Contrary to what was reported, LL Cool J was never scheduled to be a guest on 'Real American Stories' with Sarah Palin this week...The show had planned to use an interview from 2008 that was being repurposed without LL's permission."
Furor Grows Over Celebrity Appearances on Palin Show
Hours after LL Cool J complained that Fox News was recycling an old interview with him for a new program hosted by Sarah Palin, representatives for the country musician Toby Keith, who was also listed as a guest for the show, made a similar charge against the cable channel.

Several Alaska blogs are quoting parents of some of the kids at the party; they're upset that Palin apparently pulled strings so that no charges would be filed against Willow. A few boys were charged but none of the girls.
Why wouldn't they charge everyone who was there? Simple enough to get fingerprints from all the beverage cups that were left behind.

So that's three Palin kids out of three who have been photographed drinking underage and/or causing major vandalism to property (Track was involved in the trashing of a bunch of school buses, which caused school to be cancelled for a day).

Hope the family gets its act together before the same thing happens to Piper.

This is my favorite Palin-gaffe - I heard it on Public radio shortly after her "book" was released

here have been so many lies and distortions pointed out in Sarah Palin's Going Rogue since it was released last week that her memoir has already become something of a gag line.

But perhaps the most embarrassing gaffe so far is her mis-attributed quote to UCLA basketball legend John Wooden.

As the epigram to Chapter Three, "Drill, Baby, Drill," Palin assigns the following remarks to the Hall of Fame hoops coach:

Our land is everything to us... I will tell you one of the things we remember on our land. We remember our grandfathers paid for it--with their lives.

Only the quote wasn't by John Wooden. It was written by a Native American activist named John Wooden Legs in an essay entitled "Back on the War Ponies," which appeared in a left-wing anthology, We Are the People: Voices from the Other Side of American History, edited by Nathaniel May, Clint Willis, and James W. Loewen.

Palin is endlessly entertaining - but I am yet to understand why so many conservatives seem to equate "common man" with being stupid? And dishonest? She has given up correcting her hysterical errors, and the interesting thing is that her supporters don't seem to mind. This is the kind of person people want to lead our country?

In Minnesota we have to deal with Michelle Bachman - another dim bulb.

Because so long as she (or anyone for that matter) is not "a liberal-left-wing-socialist-communist-God-hating-wingnut", she'll be in good standing. Regardless of her gaffes, her appalling lack of knowledge and her hypocrisy. Everything else can be forgiven because she's "one of them."

What did Bristol do (besides get pregnant)?

Does 2000-2008 tell you anything? "Real Americans" don't want some elitist making them feel dumb, average, and common.

There were photos of her drinking underage at several Wasilla parties.
IIRC, the Enquirer did a story a couple years ago that described the
questionable behavior of both Bristol & Track, who had the same crowd of friends. Looks like Willow is following the same path.
