    From the seattletimes link:

Among McCain's earliest benefactors in Arizona was Lincoln Savings and Loan chief Charles Keating Jr., who filled McCain's campaign coffers with more than $100,000 and hosted the McCains multiple times at his vacation home in the Bahamas.

Keating expected his largesse to be rewarded, and when federal regulators began looking into Lincoln's questionable lending practices and investments in the late 1980s, ,,,

    ==snip==

McCain attended two meetings with regulators at Keating's request. McCain's view was that he was seeking information on behalf of a constituent who was an important employer in his state. The regulators' view was that they were being pressured to act favorably for Keating.

If this is true, this race is over. Just need to finish out the next few weeks. Seems McCain's erratic behavior this past week sealed the deal.

WHOA! Get ready for some serious fighting, especially since ENRON, then Wall Street just ripped off the people and our country for $700 Billion dollars. The Savings and Loan rip-off cost the taxpayers over $3.2 Billion dollars (in old-time money when the dollar was actually worth a dollar).
McCain wants to get dirty? Ha! He hasn't got a clue, and he is WAY out of his league!

Alert Large shift in Electoral map

    http://pollster.com/

Obama now has 320 electoral votes to McCain's 163, with only 55 electoral votes in the 'toss-up' colunm.

This is starting to look like a landslide. I heard the Dems registered 37,000 new voters in Virginia alone, which now has Obama in the lead.

In North Carolina, Obama is leading by .4 of a point in a dead heat. NC may be the next to flip over to Obama.

    What a race!

I enjoy watching the polls and electoral maps. I keep hearing that Obama needs to be up by 6 points leading into the election to have a chance at winning. So I'd like to see an even bigger spread. Whatever the numbers, we need to show up on election day. We can't become complacent and confident. The hits are going to keep on coming so we need to tell our neighbors, our family, and our friends, the truth when the other side keeps coming with the lies.

I hope that at this town hall meeting we hear more about the major cuts to Medicare and Medicaid that John McCain is proposing and how it will affect seniors and children.

Ayers and Obama crossed paths on boards, records show
    http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/...ers/index.html

    # William Ayers was a fugitive leader of an anti-Vietnam war terrorist group
    # The 60s radical group committed its acts when Obama was a child
    # Ayers and Obama later worked on Chicago charitable boards together
    # Obama's spokesperson said Obama had been unaware of Ayers' past

So Obama was 'paling' around with terrorists - GOT IT?
    What HOGWASH - with lipstick!

Fact Check: Is Obama 'palling around with terrorists'?
    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...th-terrorists/
Verdict: False. There is no indication that Ayers and Obama are now "palling around," or that they have had an ongoing relationship in the past three years. Also, there is nothing to suggest that Ayers is now involved in terrorist activity or that other Obama associates are.

I think "that one" did a decent job tonight. Polls agree. I'm breathing a sigh of relief, for now.

Did anyone see Michelle on Larry King last night? I always love hearing her interviews. She did a great job. She sounded so calm and didn't take the bait on any of the questions. Not that Larry was trying to trip her up, but she made sure to be gracious towards all the candidates that she was asked about.

    Landslide in the making http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14413.html

Four large states McCain once seemed well-positioned to win—Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio and Florida—have in recent weeks shifted toward Obama. If Obama were to win those four states—a scenario that would represent a remarkable turn of events—he would likely surpass 350 electoral votes.

That is beyond sickening, yet as a resident in the Southeast, not surprising. The attacks on Obama I've witnessed on tv and have heard through word of mouth around this area (that "he's the anti-Christ" and that "he does not love and honor this country") are the very definition of vile and such people should be ashamed of themselves. Probably the same neanderthals who try to harrass attendants of gay pride events in this region. Just sad!

I just saw on CNN that Obama bought 30 minutes of network television on October 29. They're speculating on what the campaign could be planning. Interesting.

Latest poll has Obama up by 8 points in WV. I don't know if I can believe that.
