I went ice skating for the first time in ages today and I forgot how difficult it is. Man, I used to take lessons so and was pretty good at it, no jumps but I do simple spins and stuff, I thought it would be like riding a bike. Boy was I wrong! It didn't help that I learned in figure skates and they only rent out hockey skates, I was like WHERE'S MY TOE PICK! Anywho I actually did okay once I got comfortable out there I just could really stop and avoiding other people was interesting. At the end I got cocky though and I thought I'd pose for my friends camera as I was gliding along. I felt sooooooo graceful until I fell splat. Some people skated over to me to make sure I was ok but I got up easily. I then tried to take a big dramatic bow and fell over again.
Well I had fun anyway and I hope I can do it again this winter. Maybe even with figure skates.
I thought it would be fun if people all shared their stories of the first time they went skating or a moment on the ice they are proud of or embarrased of. So let's share stories!
