I owe you guys an apology.:o ..When I read the review on FSU...duh to me...I confused the San Jose review with Anaheim...I'll blame it on age, lack of sleep...and the fact that I've never been to California..Sorry...:o

I just got back from Anaheim after spending a lovely week there for a conference. We took our students all over the LA/Hollywood/Anaheim/LaGuna/Santa Monica/Long Beach area. We passed a rink called the Ice Palace--I was driving so I couldn't look too close--is that a rink that anyone important trains at? Yes, I'm starcrossed. :p I was sooooo close to being in Anaheim at the same time as Michelle--sigh. I would have had trouble though explaining to the other teachers and my students why I had to miss part of the conference. :b

Beautiful area to visit I might add--no wonder Michelle likes being a southern Cali girl.

There are three rinks in Southern California that are named Ice Palace. The most important one, of course, is the new East West Ice Palace in Artesia, home to MK. And then there's another Ice Palace in Aliso Viejo, (where I live), where Sasha trains, and there's even another Ice Palace in Westminster.

I saw the show in Anaheim on Sunday! It was last minute, and I bought my ticket from a scalper--got an $80 ticket for $55. I was near the skaters' entrance. Someone was wondering above if Michelle had two-footed her triple/double/double. Yes, the first double was two-footed, but it wasn't any big deal. Her charisma just sparkled every time she was on the ice.

How did so many people get passes?? It seemed like half the concourse had them after the show.

kwanette-Thanks for mentioning FSU. It was great to read a different review of the San Jose show. Hugs!

Carbon-Awesome photos. Michelle looks wonderful. You captured perfect images of her on the ice. It looks as if she skated with tons of emotion and great edges, as always.

    Thank you!

Evan, Congratulations! Those are the best, clearest pictures I've seen in COI performances. Most of the time they are too"blurry".
The camera you got is worth the price you paid.
I won't be surprised,if Sasha Cohen fans will cherish those pictures you took of her.

I know you still have plenty of pictures to show,so I'm looking forward to seeing most of them.

Maybe because it was the last show there were a bunch left so the people who had them were just handing them out right and left because if they didn't get used then they never would? I have no idea, just speculation on my part.

Thanks for the reviews everyone, and Corbon, thanks for the pics!

*** Please Do Not Use Them Without Asking Me First!!!***

they are similar to corbon's (evan) since we sat in the same section

i will get the backstage developed this week, which means i won't get them back until next week.

by the way, for people who wants to go to artesia opening, well, it is closed to the public, thought you guys should know. i went by there before the coi show, and the lady at the front desk told me that. it is only open to the media and vip only. i think they will rope off the parking lot too, which means you would have to park somewhere else if you really really wants to go. i will have photos of the artesia site too next week.

i was next to karen kwan backstage, and she was talking to some kids. sounds like they are her current students. anyway, it sounded like she will be coaching at the new artesia rink. so if you want to join her class, sign up now. when i was there on sunday morning, bunch of people were there signing up for classes. the rink is already open, just not totally open to the public yet. but you can go in and see it.

and vocalise (grace), that is a great banner you guys made. i told my friend about the mk's cousin comment, and he laughed at me! oh well, only people who is in mkf will understand how i feel! :rollin

Corbon and babyoscar, thanks so much for sharing your beautiful pictures. Grace, the banner, from what I could see of it on Corbon's picture, looks awesome!

I was at the Anaheim show. My first COI! Wow, seeing Michelle in person for the first time, albeit from way way up in the cheap seats. She was so amazing; before I knew it, her program was over! Loved the combination spin at the end of her program. Those 4 2axels were really neat. Other highlights for me were Johnny Weir (so smooth and secure!), Belbin and Agosto (fast and lots of charisma) and the acrobats (I know people complain about the lack of actual skating but they're really good at what they do and got the 2nd biggest applause of the show. Their sports themed program was definitely entertaining and creative. Liked how seemlessly they incorporate all their moves into the program.) The applause for Michelle was pretty awesome. I wish she had more skating time.

You guys are probably tired of this question but how does one get backstage passes? I was one of those people looking down at the tunnel from above, until the staff shooed everyone away that is. I was able to catch a glimpse of Johnny but that was it.

Oy now I'm hooked! Must go to COI next year (to see Michelle!) (with better seats!).

    Default COI Anaheim

I've been a long time reader of the forum and fan of Michelle, but this is my first post. Anyway, I was at COI Anaheim and I just wanted to share a couple MK pictures. The show was fabulous, and everyone else has already done a great job with the details there, so I'll just talk a little about the post show.

I managed to get in the "tunnel" where the skaters came out to sign autographs and snap some photos. This was my second COI, but first time being able to meet them. All of them were so sweet and took their time to get to all the fans. Ben was the only one that didn't go through the entire line. He seemed busy and I remember him running to the tour bus like he forgot something. Tanith and Jenny are gorgeous in person.

Michelle was perfectly elegant as she went through the line of fans. I still can't believe I got to meet her and chat with her a bit. She had these fabulous long, white gold earrings, and was dressed all in black, and carried a Chanel bag. Her whole family was also there. After she was done, I saw her hugging Timmy and Surya goodbye (she can finally go home now!), and then she drove off in her sexy black Corvette.

So basically, I loved every minute of Sunday. And I can't wait til next year.

I posted a few more photos on my journal: www.livejournal.com/users/lilyx, and I can post some more here if you'd like.

    - S.

Thanks for the pics Corbon, babyoscar, and Sujinee (and welcome!!!) Michelle looks so beautiful and elegant in all the pics.

BTW, Corbon, who made what looks to me like a "Beware the Wrath Kwan sign" she was holding? And good to see Shep.

Wow, what great pics, everyone! I can't believe the tour is over already. Let 2006 (we hope....) begin!!

Mano -- I think Grace made the sign? Which, BTW, kicks major ice! I love it, I love it! Does anyone have a shot of the whole thing?

Re: backstage passes (since somebody asked)...I am not sure how they are usually obtained. I went with my friend and her husband -- her husband is one of the owners of Harlick boots. Timothy Goebel left tickets at will call for them, and he'd included backstage passes as well.

Heather - Yes, of course you may use my pictures!

Missmarysgarden - Thats me on the left of Michelle, and my little sister on the right. People usually can tell right away that we're related, but honestly I dont see the resemblance.

And thanks for the welcomes everyone!

Sujinee - you're from San Diego? A couple of us are from San Diego as well. I also attended UCSD but currently work in San Diego/Del Mar area -- you go there now? Are you a senior? I'm a graduate of Warren (Go Warren!) I always tell everyone I have no UCSD pride , but I do have Warren pride Go figure.

    Send me a PM sometime..

Sorry about the lack of Anaheim reports guys, I'm still really tired, I'll write something small up, but when I'm more awake - and not at work!

BTW, Skatingfan2002 helped me with the pasting in the magazines scraps for the letters for the banner. we spent many hours labouring over it It's a bit hard to read - I got a bit too abstract/artistic, so I may fix the letters for Nationals/Worlds to make it a bit more readable.

Sarah, I'll post a better pic of the banner later : )

And Erin, if you're reading this - how clear is clear contact paper?
