That night. . .
It's funny because even though I love Lyra Angelica, I didn't get to see that performance live on TV. Not because I forgot or had other things to do, but because my ABC station decided to show something else other than Nationals. I nearly hyperventilated, and I can usually be a pretty calm person. Anyway, I stayed on the internet for three hours straight(mind you, I have a one-hour daily limit, but my mom was so nice to me!) just looking for results. It seemed like the competition would never end. I even had on Headline News the whole time. . .I remember being able to recite all the top stories by the end of the night! Well, when I finally saw the results and the 6.0s, I could not stop smiling!
It's funny, but I don't remember any of the skating that night. I only remember being so flustered. By the way, that's why I don't get as upset as some people if some network shows something else instead of skating. (You think I would.) I just remember that it's worse to miss good competitions than pro-ams. And sometimes, they do reshow competitions! (They reshowed Nationals the next day when I was at church. I got home just in time to see Michelle, so don't feel that sorry for me!)

The Best!
I've loved Michelle since 1994. But 98 Nationals was the first time I sobbed with emotion and joy. I've done that many times since, even this week when I saw "Hands." SHE'S THE BEST!

To all who attended the '98 Nationals.....
I'm glad you got to experience that magic live. But to be totally honest, I am soooooo jealous! :-)

Bumping this in hopes that January 10, 2004 will be just as magical as was January 10, 1998....
