thank you for making me laugh! It has been a long day, and it is a long week yet to be finished (basketball homecoming sponsored by student council of which I am a sponsor--unpaid I might add--which means stuff happening everyday at school :p )--your posts brought a smile to my face! Post more please! :rollin :rollin

I love your reports kwanette, can't wait for more... I am glad you were able to be there in person to see her skate like that. I've seen her in COI but have never seen her compete, and I hope that someday I am able to do so before it's too late because I can't imagine the feeling of the arena coming alive like it must have done.

taf ... you are in the picture ... just at the very end.
Is Kirk Wessler not going to do the article at all?

    Default Great Reports

Great report kwanette! Even if I was there for a lot of the week, I love hearing the parts I missed (or that I was too mesmerized by the Kween to remember)!

I didn't talk to anyone after the Exhibitions (although I did see Mike and Tim at the airport) so I didn't know that Melissa gave you the car. How sweet (did I mention I love them too?). Something about you just makes skaters want to give you gifts!

Also, in my lunch report, I forgot to mention Graciesfriends chocolate, specially decorated for the occassion, so I'm glad you put it in this report!

Taf, thanks for sharing the story. Mr. Wessler sounds like a wonderful man. I wish that I knew how he reacted to MK's glorious Saturday night - since he believed that Dallas 2003 was "Priceless"!

I'm happy to know his Savoie connection, also.

taf, I won't be in Portland...so I can't be a piggy..Besides, you'll be back on the ice in less than a month...and will definitely be podium material. I've seen your BC spin..and it is a beauty...You will be racking up the points if they ever go to COP...Michelle, Jenny and taf...to Turino, baby!

Kwanette, would you please put a last name to they guy you smoked ciggs with outside that was a skater? I am sorry I dont remember enought about the men back then to figure out who this person is.

Thanks for the reports, oh and I am assuming "sweats" means suites and they were hot? Sorry I apparently missed the inside joke somewhere.

    Default Wonderful Thread!

This is a wonderful thread, almost like reading a book. You know, you all have a great sense of humor and a tremendous capacity to enjoy life. Never underestimate that. It's amazing how close so many of you are, clearly Michelle has had more of an impact on your lives than just as a figure skater, by virtue of the friendships you have made. I have always been too much of a worry wort to go to a skating event (worried about logistics, would I be able to see, etc.) and I wouldn't have gone this time but for Taf and Kwanette. I had a GREAT time even though I was sitting by myself. I chatted with the people around me, who were also major Michelle fans, so it was almost as if I was with friends. The woman in front of me "high fived" me when Michelle finished her skate. It was all in all a wonderful time, an unforgettable day.

The skater would be Jozwef Sabovcik. He was sitting behind my friends and I most of the week.

kwanette, I'd drive you anywhere ... except Turino might be a problem. :rollin

I keep thinking of when we upgraded to sleeper compartments on the way down to Atlanta, and I asked our steward "but where is the bathroom?" Then he pointed to this little wooden seat and said, there's your toilet. All I could imagine was how I was going to fit my big butt on that little seat! I think that's when my crankiness flew out the window ... I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!

Loved, loved, loved our little breakfast gatherings each morning. I was looking for someone to make me a tomato and cheese omelette when I got home ... but nope, didn't happen. Where's graciesfriend when you need her!

    Loved your report!

The "sweats"or "sweets" was the name that Sam Chez, I think, gave to the Embassy Suites where many of us stayed.

Norma, the "Midnight Train to Georgia" was actually fun...How much did we laugh? I am not going to St. Louis without my Depends...

pblueyes, thank-you. It was lovely meeting you, too. I used to be able to learn the names and faces of 150 students within a day or two...But since I retired I have a hard time remembering names. I am still tired from the trip..Usually, I am curled up by 8 or 9...but I never got to sleep in Kwanlanta before midnight..or later...and I was up by six...Oh, to be young again...How did the sistas do it?

Kwanette, just wanted to say it was great to finally meet you, taf, Teddy99, GardenKitty, SamChez, Belladella, and all the other MKFers (there were too many to remember everyone, lol!!).. After reading everyone's posts over the past year, it was wonderful to finally be able to put faces with some of the names here.
