Yes- seems to fit the part. I couldn't image Hanks in the part until I saw a pic from the movie. BTW, my first choice would have been Sam Waterson.
I think Hanks is perfect. It's different. If you've read the book... you know that Langdon was pulled out of bed late at night... probably didn't even was his hair or whatever. It's fitting for the role and I like it!
I can't wait to see the movie! I sure hope that Howard did it justice.
how does it fit the part? the character is described as Harrison Ford in tweed not Tom Hanks in a mullet![]()

I totally agree. I definitely read the book and that greasy yucky hair was never how I imagined Langdon. Hank's a decent fit for the role, (although I can think of others) but I'm sorry but that hair just looks awful.Originally Posted by Shallah

Tom Hanks hasn't aged well at all.
It looks like the hair-style of an absent-minded professor type who doesn't really think about how he looks.Originally Posted by Shallah

They made Hanks look even worse than his "average man" looks.
Off topic, the book is one of the most boring reads I've ever laid my eyes on. It's all dialogue, the writing is labored and stultifyingly pretentious and unnecessarily stylized, and most Roman Catholics know the premise is pure fiction packaged in quasi-interesting controversy. The movie is just a cash in attempt.
Harris tweed is not inexpensive. Any guy who spends that much on clothes would bother to get a decent haircut.
I kinda wish they had gone straight to the inspriation and hired Harrison Ford. Hey it worked for Bridget Jones Diary Bridget Jones' Diary with Colin Firth
As for the book I did enjoy it when I read it to see what was the hullabaloo about and went on to read his other books. I didn't find the plot twist shocking because I had seen the old bbc documentaries years ago on TLC (or was it Discovery channel?) about the book Dan Brown found his inspiration for this book. as for the movie being a cash in attempt that is what 99.99999999% of movies are after all. Every so often there are great works like Schindler's List and the rest of the time it is Scary Movie part 10 or whatever![]()
I was also at bed in my quilt cover and watching the movie here in Australia. And I even don't like the hair style!
