I don't remember the name of the song, but we asked Bebe who sings it, and the singer is "Vienna Tang". Beautiful piece by the way.

    Default Vegas Report

I went to the Vegas show at the Orleans Arena. The Orleans arena is a small place compared to the arenas I'm use to attending. It looked like a full house (95 percent full). The crowd was real energetic.

The highlight of the night was Michelle. She looks so gorgeous with her long hair and big smile. The one thing that was odd to me, was Michelle went on the ice with her video camera and started filming the crowd when they introduced her. Somone skated on to the ice and took her camera just befotre she began her program. It was like she was trying to soak everything in. She was hugging everyone after the final closing performance. I didn't notice her grabbing her hip at all.

I'm not going to write a real lengthy report because I'm using a PDA and stylist.

    My favorite moments:

Tanith's red dress. I never get tired of seeing it.

T & M gets the best performance of the night. I see why they won the Olympic gold. Their lifts are amazing and just make me say wow what a performance.

I really like the hula hoop skater. She really gets the crowd going.

Evan had a great performance. I like how he changes up his music. I like his skating far more than Johnny Weirs.

    Other:

Shizuka's Ina Bauer was wonderful. She looks like she has toned down since the last time I saw her.

Sasha's performance was ok, but nothing spectacular. I did like her russian split. The patriotic music just didn't go with the program. She looked like she was having fun.

I took a few pics and will post them when I get back home from Vegas (Saturday).

That makes me slightly nervous....but its probably nothing....I hope.

Glad you had a great time Handlem9z

Maybe Michelle will use the video and the fan's love to inspire her in the coming months just as some of us here have used Michelle's beautiful performances to calm, heal, and inspire us. Well, one can hope we can do something for Michelle for a change

I agree. My initial thought was "Oh no, that doesn't sound good!", but then I got to thinking, and maybe Michelle will need to remember why she loves what she does in the coming months. If her fans can encourage and inspire her for once, I think that's great!

Thanks for the report John! : ) I've still got to finish my report (and for that matter, my pictures.. they're taking for-e-ver!). *sighs* Can't wait to see your pics!

As for the video camera, I don't want to think too much about it...except that it must be nice to record her fans love and affection for her and add it to her memory keepsakes... *hugs to her*

I was at the Vegas show, and I saw the video camera...I pretty much agree with you. My thought was that if the surgery rumors are true, then she won't be skating for awhile, so she wants to remember the love from her fans as she goes through the difficult time of dealing with the injury.

I've given my little COI report on another board, but I thought I'd add that I thought Michelle looked very good. Because of her injury, I really expected to see her struggling. But she didn't seem slow to me; she seemed to be very smooth and in control. And certainly she got a lot of love from the audience.

Now that the COI tour is over I would like to thank everyone who posted
reports, photos, videos and to the lucky ones who got to see Michelle
and talk to her and reporting back that information to the forum. The reports
were wonderful I felt like I was sitting right there watching the show.
    LOVE TO YOU ALL.

Very true lemonade. It helps to think of that. Thanks!

    Default What happens after COI?

Well, take a look at my niece in these pictures, four days after seeing COI:

    http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/daisyd.../ph//my_photos

She had her first lesson, and she's already showing a lot of talent . She returned to Israel today with a brand new pair of ice skates. The only thing is, we're not sure there's a rink anywhere in Israel. That's something my sister will have to find out about, because that little bunny really wants to skate!

I just wanted to add a little observation. I went to three COI stops -- New Jersey, LA, and Anaheim. I know a lot of people thought that Michelle looked visibly injured in the middle and later parts of the tour, but to be honest, I didn't see it at all. In the second and third to last stops of the tour, she looked stronger and much looser than in New Jersey, which was at the beginning. I noticed in NJ that though her spiral was still high, it was more to the side. It did not appear that way to me at all in California. It really looked almost 100% back to the way it used to be. Also, her spins were faster and the positions didn't seem as strained in Cali. I know she's definitely still injured, but I just wanted to assure people that she's not completely broken. I definitely saw a lot of improvement in her movement over the last four months.

And here's a shout out to the SoCal MKFers! It was wonderful seeing old faces and meeting new ones. You guys rach

You're welcome Gary! It was great to see you and all the MKFers !
"To me, the most exquisite quality Michelle has to offer is that she's not afraid to skate with her heart and soul. This takes a great deal of courage and is very rare. It doesn't come simply from technique, but rather from the way a person handles everything in their life." Scott Williams 01/23/03

I wonder if the fans reaction to her was the only thing that she was videotaping -- or if that was the only thing that she was seen videotaping. After all, if the rumors are true, I would think that Rudy's performance would also be incredibly inspiring.

Sorry to interrupt your thought, attyfan.

IzzyS, I'll save you a search. Wikipedia says "as of 2005 there are three ice skating rinks in Israel. An Olympic facility and smaller practice rink at the Canada Center in Metula, and a small rink in the northern town of Maalot." Good luck to your niece!

I'm SO behind in reading reports (other than skimming) and looking at pics (so no one delete their pics or anything yet ), but thanks to everyone who has been posting them!

And, please tell me someone got a pic of Michelle with the video camera?

Usually when a tour ends, some of the cast members play little tricks on each other. Beside Michelle vidio taping the audience, did anyone else do anything unusual or fun?

Thanks everyone for all your reports and pics. It was especially great for those of us unable to attend COI this year. After the 2002 Olympics, we only got one more Winter tour and then they stopped coming to the Pittsburgh area. I doubt very much that they will ever be back here so I will have to live the experience through your reports again next year.

    Good one Heather

BTW Thanks for calling the MKFers at the Anaheim luncheon. What a blessing that was.

I think Rohene Ward did a show in Minnesota, and Katy Taylor did some shows in Texas. Matt Savoie (not a youngester) did 3 shows 2 in Chicago and 1 in Peoria.
