Thread: And now we have the injury.....

  1. Default And now we have the injury.....

As usual Team Sasha has found a convenient excuse for her ridiculous free skate today. After all the time she spent avoiding injury talk during the Olympics I guess she decided now would be a good time to point it out.

"A groin injury suffered during the Olympics didnít allow Sasha to train and prepare as normal for the final competition of the season. Despite the injury she courageously fought her way to an Olympiv lver meda."

OMG are you kidding me? The Sasha spin again or is it the truth brought up at a convient time?? *sigh* This is why I don't go to her website...

I think its the truth. On the last couple episodes of Olympic Ice, it was mentioned that Sasha was skating with some pain in her groin.

You know there comes a point when you lose your audience. Is anyone listening at this point.

We welcome the 2006 World Champion Kimmie Meissner! Now that is THE news! I am going to COI just to hear that!

Out the window the goes the sympathy. That is if I actually had much of any in the first place.

I remember one article after her LP in Torino saying she "gulped down pain meds" before skating. She also got ultrasound treatment, and iced her groin-like Michelle.

Also-on Olympic Ice, Scott accidently spilled the beans when he said that he heard mam Cohen talking about Sasha's injury.

She's been injured, but she didnt use that as an excuse for Torino...but its come up now. Peggy said she has been faling all week...i think she is injured, groins are like that.

    Oh, Please...

Nobody had enough time to prepare for the Worlds this year. Kimmie also injured her ear and couldn't resume her spinning until 2 wks ago. Fumie also sufferred some illness. We might hear more if we interview other skaters.

This IS exactly why Sasha cannot be a winning competitor. Mr. Nicks (or whoever) should stop pampering and sheltering her. They sound more like politicians, not athletes.

Did that article come from Sasha' website? In the article it says Sasha
had a very artistic program with a fall on the triple salcow at the end of her program with no mention of her other mistakes. Whoever wrote that article could not have been watching the same LP as everyone else.

As to the groin injury why would Sasha say she does not have
an injury if in fact she does, does not make sense to me.

Accidentally? When does anything Scott Hamilton say or do merit being called an accident? That always sounded like a set up excuse to me.

her website often says many screwed up things-like that comment made about Fumie's bronze in 2003.

What did it say? I don't recall ever hearing of a comment...

So...if she had an injury coming into the competition, why did she act like it was going to be a cakewalk for her, with no pressure and a less dense field? If she was aware of the injury, then she should have been a bit more conservative in her remarks to the press, because she would've known it might affect her skating.

Then she should have taken a page out of the MK book and withdrew from the competition instead of trying to skate injured and damage an already fragile reputation.

Just another notch, for why I do not care for Sasha Cohen at all anymore. Excuses, lies, let downs. Skip Hollywood and go straight into politics. lol

Sasha, your 21, start acting like an adult instead of the little spoiled princess that needs excuses.

I dont remember exactly-I was on another planet after worlds in 2003-a planet called MK-5 time world champ-goodbye SLC grief, but something to the level of Sasha beeing robbed, or something like her programs was more difficult-I dont remember for sure-so I may be saying some false stuff. Anyway-it was not a nice statement, and not flattering to Fumie of Sasha.....considering its her website.

It more or less said that Fumie won Bronze only because she was in an easier qualifying group than Sasha was.

Yoooo, not cool. It's one thing to hold up a person (especially on an official website) but it's another thing to tear down another's accomplishment for the sake of making one look better. No bueno at all!

HAHAHAHA!!! RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!! Whatever!!! I actually re-WATCHED that 2003 Worlds just for Michelle.......and I happened to actually rewind the tape and watch everyone ELSE besides Michelle...and once Sasha fell out of her spin (and an easy spin at that), it was all downhill from there....she bobbled, two footed, fell on a jump and her whole program just CRASHED....Hence her moniker...so she had NO RIGHT to say she was robbed.

    Geez grow up Sasha

It could be that Sasha just felt if she said she had a groin injury everyone would say she was trying to be like MK. If she didn't everyone one would say she should be like MK tell everyone. Now the truth is out and its an excuse. I think it is sort of damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. I think she really shouldn't care what everyone thinks and just do her thing.

I am so happy and proud of Kimmie. It couldn't have happened to a nicer kid. I loved how excited she was and couldn't really think of anything to say. So cute. I was hoping she would make the podium and am quite pleased with her gold. Nice since she basically was ignored at the Olys and even at Worlds. It was all Emily and Sasha. I know, I know, she still has to work on her arms and artistry. I am hoping she will. She seems like she wants to. Looking forward to seeing her imporve.

What's new??? Nothing but all excuses, lies and whatnot, this may sound harsh but it's TRUE. Just read Sasha's interview from Pre-Nationals up to Post-Worlds. There are interesting comments she had made (i.e. it's her time, her runthroughs are perfect, feeling good, confident, ready for gold, regarding Worlds - less competition = less pressure, groin injury, etc, etc, etc)

Read Sasha's journal entry on MARCH 17, 2006. "My practices have been going well. I’ve had good run-throughs and am getting into competitive shape." (heres the link - http://www.sashacohen.com/journal.shtml)

BUT WHERE DID ALL THESE COMMENTS OR HYPING HERSELF LEAD TO AFTER NOT LIVING UP TO EXPECTATIONS??? GUESS WHAT??? EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES, AND MORE!!!

This is not a bash or anything but please SASHA don't come up with any more excuses just take defeat/loss with grace and dignity or just accept that someone skated better than you. I, for one, is sick and tired of her excuses. I would applaud or respect her if she said something like to the effect of "Kimmie skated brilliantly thus deserved the gold. I, on the other hand, made some mistakes that caused the gold medal."

This is why I love MK coz she handles a loss with dignity and grace, never gives excuses like other skaters, and she admits her flaws.

I have a question, remember during the Olympics when the rumor started that Sasha has a groin injury, didn't John Nicks or Sasha stated that Sasha is not injured??? Why does her website states that she got injured during the Olympics???

"The elegant young woman has not only defined figure skating over the past decade, but also defined class in a sport that rarely demonstrates anything but a lack of it, at least behind the scenes." --- That's MK

Its too bad that Sasha has to make up excuses each time she fails to win. She sure had a lot of time to make the talk show and late night show rounds, etc after the Olympics. It didn't really seem like she was all that interested in competing at Worlds. I just wish once when she failed to live up to expectations that she didn't make up an excuse.
