Congratulations to the National League champions, the Phillies! They're the first team to repeat as NL champs in years....since the Braves. Wow. Congrats!

Congrats to Heather and her Phillies for making the World Series. They crushed the Dodgers.

I hope NY wins the ALCS because a Philly vs NY World Series would be very entertaining.

Congratulations to the Phillie fans. This team is playing great baseball.

Now all we need is the Yankees to finish off the A's, then we will be in for
a rocking World Series.

Eh. I guess we rather clinch at home???? Not a happy fan tonight.

Overdue-CONGRATS to the Phillies! I admit I was rooting for LA (Torre) but the Phillies played well and I hope we get to play them this year!!! :-)

I was thinking about you last night after your team lost. Great effort though six runs in one inning. Chin up, they will take it at home.

Last night was a rough one. That 7th inning rally was pretty extraordinary. One minute Lackey is cruising and then the next everything just falls apart.

Joe needs to start using Robertson more often. Robertson, Coke, Gaudin are just wasting away on the bench. We screwed Joba this season. He's all messed up. I don't think he should really be pitching. Hughes hasn't been sharp this October either. If we win this, he'll have to work on whatever is off before the World Series.

It's funny, the Daily News is blaming AJ for the loss. I thought AJ showed great character in that game.It was no outs in the 1st, and already 4-0...for a pitcher with the sensitive mental makeup of AJ, that could have been it...but it wasn't. He got 3 outs in the 1st and pitched a scoreless 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th...good for him!

Andy...you're our man.

Thanks kittyjake5! Loving it!!!! I admit I got a bit nervous in the top of the 6th, but I was so confident after that, even Mo's scare didn't rattle me! The Ghosts DID move across the street!

I feel for the Angels and their fans. The team certainly did their share to help us win, it was very bizarre, never would've expected the miscues. I am hopeful that they because they did play hard and helped the Yankees raise their level of play, it will carry over to the WS!

The Angels had a great team. The Angels always have a great team with really great pitching. I think maybe their heads were in the wrong place in this series. They made 9 errors which was very surprising to me...or maybe, it was just those darned ghosts!

Mo was a little rusty in the 8th. The ball was really moving outta his hand...he broke Abreu's bat I think. But he was back to his regular self in the 9th.

While the Angels D was shaky, ours was brilliant. Tex NEVER misses a ball...Cano was superb...Swish made some great plays...this is just a great team. Very very talented, focused.

Overall...I feel very happy, excited, and confident going into this World Series. The Phillies have a solid team. This will be quiet a match up. It starts Wednesday night... ALCS MVP and CY Award Winner CC Sabathia v. CY Young Award Winner Cliff Lee..

That's fine...it would be much sweeter to win at home...

Not to play Monday Morning Quarterback (ok, so I am!), I felt Joe should've started Gaudin last night Vs Lee and saved Burnett for Wed, Andy for Thurs. I hope this decision is not the one that will be talked about until Spring Training.

We had a chance actually to win it, even yesterday. If Coke doesn't give up those two home runs, who knows what happens? Our team in incredibly resilient and they showed it again last night. Not to sound too cocky here, obviously AJ was terrible... but the Phillies barely eek-d out 1 win at home...

As for Gaudin/AJ...I don't know what to say about that. It's already over with. The truth is, Gaudin has pitched an inning in all of October or something along those lines. AJ had his "BAD AJ" day...if Gaudin loses game 5, and Bad AJ shows up in game 6, we're tied 3-3....

LETS GO ANDY!
LETS GO BATS!
LETS GO YANKEES!!!!!!!

It looks like "who's yo daddy" will start for the Phils for game 6. That gives me mixed emotions. I am pulling for the Phillies, but Pedro is such a mercenary..... goes where the money and the WS opportunities are....
Weren't Pedro and Damon both part of a recent Red Sox WS winning team?

Still, I hope the Phillies can and do beat them Yankees! Whatever happened to Heather???? Why do I seem to be the last of the "anti-Yanks" ???

You can say the Phils struggled to pull out just 1 victory at home, but then again the Yanks have only won 1 in their own stadium so far. It is 3 to 2. It would be sweet to watch the Phillies win this thang in Noo Yawk. I hope Pedro gets plenty of "who's yo daddy" jeering tomorrow night........ it's cool. More sauce for the goose.

Gooooooooooo Phillies!!!!!!!!!! Woooooooooo!!!!!

I think Heather avoids this thread until after the WS is over.

And no, you are far from the last anti-Yankee. There are gaggles of you everywhere I turn.

Pedro and Damon were on the 2004 World Champion Red Sox team. The Yankees won 1 game at their home stadium so far in the world series, out of just 2 played there. Prior to that 1 loss, they won all other playoff games this season there.

As for Heather, she was always a frequent poster in this thread. She's a much bigger Philly fan than a "Yankee hater". I wouldn't label her as a Yankee hater.

Where are the anti-Yanks ..... I meant that as a seperate question.......... but coming right behind my where's Heather question does look bad. I know Heather is a good sport, not a hater. I don't actually hate the Yankees....... I just have a habit of pulling for whoever has to face them in the World Series. I jumped on up on the Phillies bandwagon as soon as my Braves were mathmatically eliminated.

The who's yo daddy chants are already sounding and it's very early.........cool.......

Goooooooooo Phillies!!!!!

Still in the 5th inning...............

Congrats to the Yankees and their loyal fans. Andy Petite had it together, Who's yo daddy and the Phillies relievers didn't. Series over.......Yanks win again.
