..i suppose for the same reason "they" are using a clip

of miss kwan's layback in the visa ad for the olympics instead

of a skater who actually has a chance to compete there...

Awesome! I know along with the networks showing the parade, a local LA station also shows the parade. Hopefully someone will be able to capture that footage for the rest of us?

Three years ago I marched with my high school marching band in the Tournament of Roses Parade (yes, the one where it rained non-stop!). Michelle is going to have a blast. Every float is so beautiful (I got to help work on some of the floats....such as the Disney float!)

I wonder if she grew up watching the parade?

I always work as a tour guide in LA for the Rose Parade week. My group always sits right under the TV cameras. I'll bring my camera and do the best I can, but if someone can do a screen shot from the TV, that'll be a million times better because the TV coverage will have close ups.

According to the official Tournament of Roses site, TV stations that will be broadcasting the parade are: ABC, Hallmark Channel, HGTV, KTLA (Tribune), NBC, RFD-TV, Travel Channel and Univision.

Right now the Anhauser/Busch float is #71 out of 92 entries. The parade starts at 8am and will start passing by the TV cameras at about 8:05. I think if you turn on the TV by about 9:15 (PST), you'll have plenty of time to catch the float. But in any case, check to see if the entry order hasn't changed.

Going back to the Visa ad, our Kween is the ONLY athlete in the actual motion in the entire commercial--what a sassy visual effect.

Well skaters who might actually compete at 2010 Olympics can't be in the Rose Parade because Nationals is 2 weeks afterwards and they are really busy. I know for a fact that all the Nationals competitors I know are at the rink today working hard and will probably be there on New Years Day as well.

When I saw this thread, I was thrilled. I just came back from vacation late Saturday night. My boyfriend and I were given tickets to the Rose Parade by his uncle a week or two before we left for Mexico, and I was apprehensive about having to wake up so darn early! But now I'm really looking forward to it, and it should be a beautiful (but chilly) parade. You guys will probably still have the best view on TV, but I will try and grab a few snapshots of Michelle if my camera can reach that far.

Grace and Izzy, maybe I'll meet you up there! I've gone the day after to see the floats in person but never to the parade itself. I might sign up for a tour so I don't have to drive myself.

Heather, our local station KTLA (Channel 5) has coverage of the parade all day (they re-run it in its entirety about 5 times Jan 1) so I would imagine they might post video on their website, http://www.ktla.com.

This is so exciting!
