Lake Placid is shaping up to be a better bet for USFS than last year.

Pairs: Except in Pairs. If R&B repeat their silver from Everett, that would be amazing, but with Z&Z and D&B seem to be in the way this time... Here's hoping

Shen and Zhao looked amazing in practice except for a fluky fall during a spin after their long program. Their twist and throws were huge and clean during the run-through. She bobbled the landing of another one later in the practice.

Zhang and Zhang also looked great. When he fell out of one jump, he mumbled to himself and kept shaking his head as if he couldn't believe it.

Both teams looked in fantastic shape. The definition of their bodies shows the benefit of training hard and wisely.

According to my interactive guide, Universal Sports coverage is from 7:30 until 11:00, so check it out if you're setting a recorder in absentia, or you don't want to miss a half hour. It may be different in different places. Mine is coming from the Miami feed.

Shen and Zhao were wonderful, and I think I just saw graciesfriend give a standing O at the end. Score: 74.36 Personal Best. Well deserved, they were awesome.

I had tears in my eyes during and after S/Z's short. No other skater(s) across all disciplines do that for me anymore.

Shez/Zhao were wonderful!! I love Brooke and Ben but they have not been the same since the injury.

Universal Sports on TV is using the same commentary as icenetwork. I am watching both - just for icenetwork replays during TV commercial breaks. There is no video coverage for universal sports online, if that's what you were asking.

BTW, icenetwork is showing the same thing as US only a little bit behind.....I thought I could watch one without the commentary....oh well....(what happend to the talk about having Tonia Kwiatkowski on IN...isn't that what was talked about earlier in the year? I like her better than these other 2)

ITA: that Shen and Zhao were great. I like the 2nd pairs who skated, too, Brooke and Ben (I believe). I like one of their lifts where she was facing the ceiling and just like her lines and she points her toes. Always like the couple and I know that they having been out of the scenes for awhile. The 3rd couple who skated (U.S.) did nothing for me.

What is it about the supportive or 2nd commentator? They tend to comment on stuff that are so unnecessary and not relative to what's happening on ice. Only Terry Gannon can cut it as a side kick to main commentators without being annoying. This lady is annoying with her sharp voice. Sandra, at least, softens her voice.

Wow - it's hard to watch the whole event when the best skate first. I think I like how the LP draw is worked. After the beautiful Shen and Zhao program, nothing else has appealed to me. Gosh, I should have some USA spirit going on, here comes the second US pair, butt, well, I do like their music. Maybe they will surprise me.

It's Andrea Joyce with Sandra ..... Andrea has been doing all the grand prix on US and NBC this year....she's not so bad except saying Kim Yu-Na all the time...
she had good help this year tho with Peter, Paul & Mary- I mean Jenny.lol

Question: does anybody know if CCTV5 or any channel is showing the Skate America live? I am in Chile, that's why.

I wish I could watch it online. I just got home and have nothing to do...

I think they are. I downloaded the viewer yesterday to watch it there before Universal Sports showed up on my channel line up. It's worth a check.
