I sure wouldn't pass her up. I am just thrilled that she has been able to maintain her international roles transcending political parties and personal connections.

It's wonderful for Michelle; and for the image of the US, abroad.

I think that maybe Hillary knows Michelle personally. Michelle was an invited guest at a White House dinner when Bill Clinton was president. Just musing.

Once again Michelle demonstrates her awesome grace, reminding me why I've been a fan for so many years. She is beautiful, on the ice and off. I predict they'll *love* her in Ukraine!

It is really wonderful to have a woman with such dignity, class and charm representing the U.S.
I love that she does this, it says so much about her, she is an amazing person. Love her so much!

Hmmmm...Perhaps she should contact V. Petrenko to learn about all of the neat spots in the Ukraine for her "off duty" time.

This is great - plus the Ukraine has had such an honorable and distinguished figure skating history. A good match.

According to the article, she will be conducting skating clinics on this trip, so she will have some time on the ice.

Some articles now coming out in Russian, I've linked it here, translated by google:

"Five world champion Michelle Kwan still does not know whether to skate at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver"

    http://translate.google.com/translat...55&sl=ru&tl=en

“Several months ago I renewed training and much I work on ice. It is at the same time still too early to speak about the Olympic start”, said famous American figure skater.
    This one includes a picture:

    Translation of the associated article:
    http://translate.google.com/translat...79&sl=ru&tl=en

She was in a skating school in Kiev.

    And another one:

The picture is old, from her visit to Volgograd.

    Grace, thanks for the links.

I thought the translations of the AP article was funny when it mentioned that Michelle announced her return to figure skating in November 2009 (yes, that's how it translated, not 2008).

Now, I know we all believe she's magical and legendary, but to be able to make an announcment before an actual date has happened is truely remarkable!!

Here's hoping her training is humming along and she's excited to get back to competition.

PS - Did I maybe misread that? Does it mean that she'll be competing this coming November????
    I believe!

I remain totally in AWE of Michelle Kwan.

This season just hasn't been the same without her.

I miss seeing her on the ice.
    I think I always will...

No no, this one. It could very easily be a weird microphone or something, but it looks like it's her necklace, flipped up just after or while turning or something. Wishful thinking though, methinks...

(ETA: Just watched the video. It is indeed a microphone. D'oh! Fabulous seeing her on the ice, though!)

I couldn't agree more. No body moves across the ice like the Kween. It is positively sublime!!!!
