Michelle was interviewed at the Laker's game a few minutes ago. She confirmed that she did just graduate from UD and moved back to LA. Regarding the Olympics she said she is training and trying to get back in Olympic shape!!!!!

I wonder if there's any chance they'll show this on Sportscenter...I'm watching just in case. On ESPN, there is an NBA game in the 4th quarter on right now that should be off at 1 AM EST.

I don't know if they will reshow it. What happens at the Laker's game is that all the celebrities get these special seatings. Michelle was seated court side. I did not see who she was next to but my husband said he thought she was talking to Jack Nicholson (sp?). They show the celebrities on camera sometimes and say oh there is so and so enjoying the game, etc. And occasionally they will go to them and ask them a few questions. So the sportscaster approached her and asked her a few questions. He talked about how she said she was on the ten year plan for school. She laughed and said yes she promised she would finish and she just finished in December and moved back to LA. Then he asked everyone wants to know about the Olympics in 2010. She said she has been training on and off ice "trying" is the key word that I am pretty sure I heard, "trying to get back in Olympic shape, so, we'll see." Is how I heard it. So keep everything crossed that she will feel like she can get back competitive enough. But bottom line, they don't usually re-air those casual court-side talks and unfortunately, I was not expecting it so I did not tape it. I actually was upset with my husband wanting him to turn the game off and I looked and said, "Wait, is that Michelle??"

It would be wonderful to see her at Nationals again. She could get that 10th title! I doubt anyone would ever break that record, unless they throw out CoP.

Wow! I am very, shocked right now! Shocked in a good way, that is. Oh how I'd love Michelle to come back to competitive skating!! Well, just to see her skate again would be fantastic. There is something missing when Michelle isn't around... that is for sure.

Oh, my oh my. So she does want to compete in 2010. That's good enough for me. I believe in Michelle with all my heart. But I know she wants to be in top notch shape to compete there again. So....I'll pray for her and trust her to know the right thing to do.
I'll betcha we'll see her in something soon. She'll want to perform in front of an audience more than likely, because although I don't skate, I'm sure there's a big difference in skating alone and having a crowd watching you. Anyway, there I go wishful thinking again.

I am hopeful but I interpreted her to be saying she has started training to see if she can get back in Olympic shape. So I think the jury is till out because we don't know what impact that surgery may or maynot have had.
