    Default New Spoiler Tag!

I don't know why I didn't think of this when Michelle was competing, but I decided to add a spoiler tag (which will be included in the FAQ soon).

    To use this:

    HTML Code:
    [spoiler]test[/spoiler]
    In action:
    Spoiler

Instances where you can use it: Talking about a TV episode that hasn't aired on the west coast, or if you read ahead and saw a spoiler somewhere else. Sports on TV that again, hasn't been aired on the west coast, or maybe you were at the event. Spoilers for skating will still be in Spoilers. If you have any questions on other instances that you might be able to use the tag, post and ask questions.!

    Thanks,
    Grace

I'm a member in another forum that uses this on their vBulletin and I've always meant to say something about it... but I'd always forget! It's very useful and I highly reccomend it!

Also... I was not able to reply to this specific thread using the quick reply, I had to click on "post reply" first. Dunno what that's about?

It's the google ad that's causing that. I took it out temporarily since I don't have time to debug the problem right now and will be going out. Plus my internet connection is running very slow right now due to capping out my bandwidth. I didn't notice it at first since i only checked on mozilla.

Oh, that's totally different than the spoiler tag I've seen on other boards, lol, but it works!

Interesting idea, but I guess it's time for the dumb questions, cuz I don't quite get it.

Do we type the tag in, or is there something we click on?

Where do we use it? In the message title? What is the difference between using the TAG and just typing the word "SPOILER" in the title? There's something I'm missing here, I think!

You're probably thinking of skating competitions and such. Skating competitions will remain in "Spoilers" or still have the spoilers title (just to make this distinction easier.) However, as the examples I stated above, such as TV show spoilers, other sports spoilers in Random Chat, and whatever else spoilers that may be something other people may not want to know NOT related to skating competition, the spoiler tag can be very useful - which make it easier to avoid spoilers within a thread.

Reality show results, rumors that may be true may be good for this as well.

I purposely posted a more detailed example in "The Nine" for you:
    http://mkforum.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15244

I was able to see the episode before it has been aired, so I made comments about it, and because it's hidden under the spoiler show/hide tag, people don't have to close their eyes or browse quickly to avoid reading about it. They can comfortably read the thread without worrying that someone might spoil them because it's not visible to them. (of course this depends on the user using the spoiler tag already...)

I see lots of other forums use this and I found it useful. I kept on forgetting to add it to our forum. When I was writing up my Greys Anatomy spoilers comments on the forum even though a few people might not have seen the episode already, I realized it would be really useful to add the spoiler tag (which is when I remembered) so I added it then.

Hm.. perhaps this is too much info, but hopefully it's enough to clarify things a bit?

    *please excuse my horrible grammar.

Oh, that's very cool. I can see lots of uses for it, especially for spoilers that aren't spoilers, but some people think they should be...like the music or the dress. Oh, that we had that problem this season. Thanks for the example!

Do we type the tag in, or is there something we click on?
