We all know that MK is skating right before IS. IS this an advantage for her? I think it is for MK to be in the same group as IS. If MK skates clean and beats IS in the qual. round then she will be set for the gold in the long. But I think it would have been better for MK and IS to be in separate groups. Too bad MB is in the other group.
Will MK go for the 3/3 in RV? And if MK skates a clean RV with the 3/3 what will IS do? Will she do a 3/3 or 2? Or will she play it safe and have a clean program? What program is IS skating by the way?
MK and IS are the favorites but is MB one, too? I think that the Worlds is more between MK and IS than MB. MB is basically fighting for the bronze.

Well I believe that Michelle will just concentrate on her own skating and do her best without worrying how skaters had done before her or who'll be skating after her. But of course, it is always better to skate later. I believe that the judges will hold her scores back just a little bit to see how Irina will skate. And since both of them are skating right after one another, it would be a great comparison.

I think that Michelle should do the triple/triple. Not only will it give her confidence if she lands it going into the LP, but it will also pressure Irina to do one or two as well. This is such a tough group that I don't think Michelle can just play it safe. There are just too many good skaters in this group to do so, and any could potentially be first.

Although Irina and Michelle are favorites, I don't think we should count Maria out for the gold just yet. The ice is slippery as we all know and things might just get surprising. Who knows, ANYBODY in the top 4 after the Short Program could win the GOLD.

But of course, I'm rooting for MK and hope she does the best three performances of the year!

count anyone out. After the olympics and 99 worlds I've learned my lesson. My prediction days are over. I will not count even maria out even though she has had a bad season. What counts is this competition that is going on now. Anything is possible but my prayers and concerns are for michelle in the ladies field.

I never predict, I hope and pray. I also think Maria's qualifiying group (A) is tantamount to a bye. I don't want to be negative, but please tell me one single medal contender in her group.

Ya'll are right...I'm not gonna count MB out now that I think about it. Her poor skating this year just made me think that she's not nearly a big favorite as MK or IS for that matter. YOu just never know what's going to happen in figure skating that's for sure!~ But is MK for sure doing a 3/3 in the qualifying round? If so then yeah that'll definitely put the pressure on IS to hit one,too or more.

unless Malinina's injuries are healed and she's been able to practice and train properly, there's no real competition for Maria [unless somebody we don't know about has gotten a whole lot better in the last year].

and Victoria V. Vanessa G. had a wonderful long program at Europeans with great artistry and jumps, I think if Maria or any of the top skaters falter(besides Michelle of course ) One of those skaters will be a suprise medalist. Hey don't forget about Anna Rechino too.

Maria's gonna have to blow it big time for Vanessa or Victoria to pull up over her (not that I think they shouldn't or couldn't mind you, but the judges do hold her up so much as it is). Still, as I was amazed to discover from reading the qualifying group starting orders, there isn't a Russian judge on either of the judging panels, so maybe the other judges can be a little freer about placing skaters where they really ought to be, without fear of retribution against their own skaters...
