She was great! I've never seen her spin soo fast before!!!! Obviously her training has paid-off, good for her!!

I'm not concerned about the long program anymore. That's the best I've seen her skate that SP all year!

YES, there was a bobble with her 3/flip, but her speed, emotion and energy were great!

I really think that she's going to kick some butt tomorrow during the LP!!!!! I'm excited!!

PS: Sarah Hughes was ROBBED! those scores were unacceptable!

I completely agree with you. Her spins were wonderful! its much faster and has better position. there was so much i liked about that skate. for the most part, i really enjoyed watching her confidence on that ice. and she went for the harder jump. good for her!

i'm excited too. i want to see more of what she's been doing in practice. i see a lot of improvements. i luv it.

rock on michelle

Yeah..it's really evident that her training time since nationals has paid-off (her speed, attack and spins)! I think we're really going to see sparks fly during the LP!!!

Michelle's spins just keep getting better. Both with speed, leg and arm positions. And her spiral is still the best!

March 31st, 2000, 06:43 PM
was awesome. Did you guys see the variation on the layback. She is going to kick butt if she keeps training like she has.

PS. and get a new set of judges. They suck.

not only has her spinning paid off but the 3f in the short too!!!
Go MK, you can still do it!

Even Button seemed genuinely pleased with Michelle's improvement on her jumps.

I wish he would express his thoughts though about the unfair judging against Michelle. I know he thinks it, but he's not saying it. The judges really do suck. Where is Joe Inman???

I meant Michelle's spins ( not jumps), about Button's reaction.

All I could do was sit there with my mouth haning open and say "wow!" She was so great. Her spins were probably the best I have ever seen from her! Everything else was great also!

I think Dick said it all when he said that 'Maria benefited from being last' and that 'there was no US judge'

March 31st, 2000, 08:18 PM
to say in his own way that Maria didn't deserve those high marks, but he also mentioned that the fact that the scores were pretty much consistent throughout says a lot. It sure does say a lot -- about the weight they're giving her just because she's the defending champion.

Off topic: How did they come up with the skate order tomorrow night? Is it randomly chosen or the judges decide? And howcome there is no US judge??

I agree...her spins looked great! I'm so impressed that she was able to improve her spins so much in this short amount of time...imagine what she can do by next season! Her sit spin was SO fast. And, they actually complimented her on her layback!

Joe Inman was judging pairs. The only disipline US has a judge in was the pairs. I'm not exactly sure how they pick the judges, but it just seems strange to me that there would be no US judge in ladies, mens, or dance.

For the draw, the skaters pull a number out of a hat basically. I don't know what the deal is with Michelle keep picking to skate first!

Button said she is doing work with the "spin doctor" Evelyn Kramer, on her spins. What a marked improvement in such a short time! Good for her!!!

It is so typical of her...she and FC listen to criticism and take it to heart...and get results.

-Everyone said - put the flip in the sp - Voila
-Everyone harped on the layback - it's beautiful this year.
-Everyone said spin faster - she got help and is spinning faster
-Everyone said choose some upbeat music and try a more contemporary style - ADITL

So I guess next year we'll see the two new 3/3 combos everyone wants

I smiled all the way through her program. She was wonderful. it is the old Michelle. I know I'm prejudice, but I thought she was more ON than some others. I know this is terrible of me, but when most of the other skaters are skating, my mind wanders to other stuff. But Michelle mesmerizes me. I can watch her programs over and over.

Michelle will amaze us with her long program!!!!

We will, once again, be in awe!!!!!

I have a good feeling this morning!!!
