how many pairs left? i know there was a large entry this year...

January 9th, 2004, 03:06 PM
Top 4 are left.

January 9th, 2004, 03:06 PM
Wow! Speilberg/Joeright must have done a really nice job. They have moved up quite a bit.

I am bummed that it appears Stiegler/Cording didn't do so great.

January 9th, 2004, 03:08 PM
Looks like 4 pairs are left:

January 9th, 2004, 03:29 PM

1. I/B
2. O/L
3. S/D

New champs Rena and Scott

January 9th, 2004, 03:30 PM
OMG what happened to scott and dulebhon

January 9th, 2004, 03:31 PM
FSU says i/b in spite of winning had 3 falls 2axle, 3toe, and throw jump.

S/D must have really stunk.

January 9th, 2004, 03:31 PM
OMG! Seriously???? S/D must have fallen apart if O/L pulled ahead of them! Any word on how Don/Hunt did??? I would have loved to see them in the top 3.

January 9th, 2004, 03:35 PM

sbs 3 toe he fell, she 2toe
split 2 twist collision
throw 3 Salchow
failed/aborted lift
sbs spins good
throw 1 loop

January 9th, 2004, 03:35 PM
does this mean that scott and dulebohn(sp?) wont go to worlds?

January 9th, 2004, 03:36 PM
does this mean that scott and dulebohn(sp?) wont go to worlds?

That's right...only 2 pair teams this year. My gosh, what drama!!!

January 9th, 2004, 03:38 PM
I&B - He fell 2 Axel & 3 Toe, Throw 3 Salchow bad crash in front of the judges, Natalia spin - okay

O&L Throw 3 Salchow - a beauty, SBS 2 Axel - Cyn said he singled it, BCS said it was a waltz jump, Throw 3 flip - turnout

On a 5 to 4 split I&B into first.

Folks in FSU think O/L were robbed again. Since I/B were a disaster again.

January 9th, 2004, 03:38 PM
What about Don & Hunt?

January 9th, 2004, 03:38 PM
How did Don and Hunt do????

January 9th, 2004, 03:39 PM
Don't be so sure about S/D not going to worlds...my guess is the USFSA will give them every opportunity to earn it at 4CC because if they really wanted O/L at worlds, they wouldn't have hosed them in the short and from reports, in the long as well.....but in all honestly, it doesn't sound like anyone really earned a spot...

January 9th, 2004, 03:40 PM
can u give me a link to fsu?

January 9th, 2004, 03:41 PM
Orscher/Lucash 3twist iffy, sbs 3t/2t, throw 3t?, sbs 2a he pops, camel sit spin combo, spirals poor, lift, ds, throw 3s, ds, pair spin slow, circ steps, lift 53-55/53-55 in 1st

Inoue/Baldwin sbs 3t he 1, 3twist scary, sbs 2a/3t he fall, throw 3s fall, lasso lift, right outside ds, pair spin nice, nice lift, stand up
pos on lift, throw 3l, sbs spin short on revs, diag steps
52-56/53-57 in 1st

Don/Hunt 3tw, sbs 3t she 2/2t, throw 3s?, nice upside down lift, sbs spins off, throw 2f?, lift, poor pair spin, steps, ds 52-55/52-56 in 3rd - loud boos as the crowd wants them 1st

Scott/Dulebohn sbs 3t he fall/2t, 3wtist shaky, lift, throw 3l?, lift
botched (can't hold her up), nice sbs spins, spirals so-so, throw 1jump, sbs 2a, ok pair spin, diag ftwk 51-55/53-57 in 3rd - the
crowd booed the 57s and roared in approval at seeing them 3rd

January 9th, 2004, 03:41 PM
I am kinda suprised I/B were put in first with that type of performance. O/L don't have as good basic skating skills, but I will have to wait and see their program before I decide who should have won!

January 9th, 2004, 03:42 PM
crowd booed the 57s and roared in approval at seeing them 3rd

How telling a statement is that???

January 9th, 2004, 03:44 PM
Does anyone know when they are going to show the pairs lp on tv?

January 9th, 2004, 03:45 PM
Sounds like Don and Hunt were robbed. It sounds like they were definetly better than third.

January 9th, 2004, 03:46 PM
Don/Hunt had no falls and didn't end up in the top 3?

5.7 for S/D? That is absolutely ridiculous. How can the usfsa justify that type of judging?

January 9th, 2004, 03:46 PM
I mean fourth

January 9th, 2004, 03:46 PM
Does anyone know when they are going to show the pairs lp on tv?

Tomorrow with the men's LP in the afternoon. 4-6 PM EST I believe

January 9th, 2004, 03:48 PM
Does anyone know when they are going to show the pairs lp on tv?

You mean you still want to see this?

I'm kidding.

Now I agree with whomever called US pairs a Crash Dummy Test. Geez, not one clean skate from the "top" four!

January 9th, 2004, 03:48 PM
Sounds like Don and Hunt were robbed. It sounds like they were definitely better than third.

I agree...sounds like either them or the Orscher team should have won the free skate.

I'm definitely going to have to watch tomorrow.

January 9th, 2004, 03:49 PM

www.usfsa.org/event_relat...s-free.htm (http://www.usfsa.org/event_related_details.asp?ri=content/events/200304/uschamps/senior/seniorpairs-free.htm)

Looks like it was a super close battle for third between S/D and D/H.

January 9th, 2004, 03:57 PM
On FSU spys are reporting that the crowd booed S/D placing ahead of D/H.

Those there thought Don/Hunt were CLEARLY the best of the night.

January 9th, 2004, 04:11 PM
wow, i hate to hear that the crowd boooed so loud...i don't like that at all......sounds like i&b won with mistakes cuz i think they skate really fast....i'll just have to see tomorrow...but i hope they don't show all that booing...that's poor sportsmanship>

January 9th, 2004, 04:13 PM
im really happy that katie and garrett placed in 2nd, they definetly did get robbed in the SP, but I'll guess I'll have to wait and see tomorrow and find out if they got robbed in the long like everyone is saying.

i really hope tiffany and phil don't get sent to worlds instead of katie and garrett. they are a young team and could definetly benefit from the experience of going again this year. i'd be really pissed at the usfsa if they do that.

this whole pairs competition seems fishy to me.

January 9th, 2004, 04:21 PM
Congrats to I&B! I am really happy for them. And I am glad we have a new nat champ in pairs.

I really don't think usfsa will pull O/L off world team and give to S&D. The only time I remember that happening in the past 10 years was when an injury was involved.

January 9th, 2004, 04:29 PM
The USFSA automatically sends the champion and then can select whomever right?

I would not be happy if they ditched O/L for S/D. I mean S/D aren't my favorite, but O/L have worked EXTREMELY hard and it shows. They skated the best they ever have and to take that away from them just seems rude.
