Rather than getting cracking on some astronomy homework, I opted to fiddle around with PS. This was the result.

The dark blue Bolero dress, only now in scarlet:

The Campbell's Tosca dress, now in silver:

The gold Bolero dress, now in silver as well:

The '02 Rach dress, now in red:

Same dress as above, but green:

I've now learned that green and silver - not really Michelle's colors.

Wow, how neat! The lavender Lyra dress is pretty IMO.

xAranjuez, do you think you could make her Nationals/Worlds Aranjuez one a deep scarlet color? I'm curious to see what it would look like.

xAranjuez
April 19th, 2006, 07:41 PM
This is the Aranjuez dress in red . . . it's really hard to manipulate because of the elaborate design work on it. It doesn't look as smooth as I would like it too, but you get the idea.

I also did the On My Own dress in pink and lilac:

xAranjuez, you are really talented! I think MK looks best in red. :) I have PS Elements 2.0 and have never been able to figure out how to change the color of one thing without affecting all the other colors in the pic. Is there a quick, easy explanation or a direction you can point me in for instructions? Thanks!

xAranjuez
April 22nd, 2006, 11:16 AM
I have PS 7 . . . I don't know how similar the two are (I've never even heard of elements) so I don't know how much I can help.

What I do is choose a color (which most likely isn't the color the dress will end up being - you get better at predicting what the filters will do to color groups the more you do it). Create a new layer over the picture you want to manipulate. I use either the magic wand or the point-to-point tool to isolate the portions of the dress I want to change. Once those areas are covered in your new color, play around with the layer filters (ie. multiply, linear burn, hue, overlay, etc). And that's about it.

thank you xaranjuez, for this thread...this is fun for a rainy day here where i live....i LOVE the first one, I think, the 2005 Spring Marshalls dress in that Scarlet Red.....gorgeous...also, i think one of our members uses that tosca dress in aqua for her/his avatar...i forget who, but i always thought that was neat.....this is fun...keep it coming!:clap
deb

p.s....i wonder why more skaters don't skate in green...i love those as well!

Thanks xAranjuez for the PS info! Elements is the "consumer" version...I guess it doesn't have all the fancy stuff of the pro versions, but I'll see what I can do with your advice. I'm not too good at working with layers, so this will give me something to work on. :)

If you have time, could you play around with her black Dream of Desdemona dress, Rach 98, Ariane, and Song of the Black Swan at either Nats or Worlds?

Thanks so much!

First--xAranjuez, I love your work! I hope you don't mind me posting mine here. I've just been playing around...if you want me to take mine out of here and start a new thread of my own, I will...I just figured I'd add on to what you've done.

Secondly--chipso1, here's a bit of your requests:
Song of the Black Swan, Worlds Dress...in GREEN (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/sparkedorange/songofblackswan--green.jpg)
Song of the Black Swan, Worlds Dress...in BLUE (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/sparkedorange/songofblackswan--blue.jpg)

DOD:
blue (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/sparkedorange/DOD-blue.jpg)
brown (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/sparkedorange/DOD-brown.jpg)
red (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/sparkedorange/DOD-red.jpg)
purple (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/sparkedorange/DOD-purple.jpg)

I did those quickly, and they are no where near perfect, but they give you an idea of what those dresses may look like in the other colors!
